UFCW Spending Data

A look at the last five years (2015-2019) of the UFCW International’s spending shows millions of dollars going to pay compensation for union officers and staff members. Then there’s the millions spent on hotel stays, air travel, legal counsel and public relations firms, just to name a few.

Below, UFCW members can see a breakdown of how the union has spent their dues over the past five years. Workers deciding whether or not to join the union can decide for themselves if they want their dues going to the line items listed below.

A full breakdown of union spending can be accessed with the Department of Labor. Staff and officer salaries and disbursements are not included in spending by category and overall spending totals below.

Methodology: The Center for Union Facts obtained 2015-2019 spending data from the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union’s LM filings with the Office of Labor Management Standards (OLMS), which covered approximately 3,000 different spending line-items. We assigned one of ten different categories to cover the featured spending line items of interest.
